Hailing from the multicultural streets of Western Sydney and tracing his ancestry back to the nation's first soundsystem, Soulmaker Sound, Jah Tung is a dynamic force in the global reggae movement, blending conscious lyricism with versatility across reggae, hip hop, and dancehall. Of Anglo-Indian descent, Jah Tung’s mixed heritage and lived experience growing up in Australia’s diverse urban landscape fuel his music with authenticity and purpose. His self-produced album Digital Degeneration showcases not only his lyrical depth and production prowess, but also features heavyweight collaborations with reggae icons Kabaka Pyramid, Micah Shemaiah, Bugle, Pressure Busspipe, and Tamika.

 

A seasoned performer, Jah Tung has taken his message-driven music beyond borders — touring Europe, gracing the stage at Germany’s iconic Reggaejam Festival, performing with Little Lion Sound at Reeds Festival in Switzerland, and with Dub FX at the infamous Rototom Sunsplash as well as side shows in South France, Croatia and Slovenia. Back home, his work has earned him four consecutive nominations at the prestigious Music Victoria Awards, underscoring his impact on the Australian music scene.

 

Drawing influence from legends like Tarrus Riley, Richie Spice and Michael Jackson, Jah Tung stands as one of Australia's most prolific and impactful reggae voices and continues to break barriers, using his songs as tools for unity, empowerment, and cultural connection.
